Cubic Feet Calculators

Pick the calculator that matches your shape, or start from a specific unit. Every tool runs in your browser, supports mixed units, and shows the formula it used.

By shape

Start with the geometry. Each calculator includes a 3D preview and a worked formula.

Which calculator should I use?

If you know the shape, pick the matching shape calculator. Most rooms, boxes, and containers are rectangular. Tanks, pipes, and barrels are cylinders. Hoppers, silos, and pile-shaped piles of material are usually cones.

If your shape is complex or has a notch cut out of it, use the irregular shape calculator. Break the shape into rectangular pieces, calculate each one, and the calculator sums them.

If your measurements are not in feet, the unit calculators (inches, meters, yards, centimeters) skip the unit conversion step. They accept the unit you already have and return cubic feet.

If you have a specific project in mind — concrete, mulch, moving, shipping, appliances — see the use-case calculators. They build on the shape math but answer a more practical question (how many bags, which truck size, what wattage).

If you only need to convert between units, see the unit converters.

What every calculator does

  • Accepts measurements in inches, feet, yards, centimeters, meters, or millimeters
  • Shows the formula it used and the intermediate steps
  • Returns cubic feet alongside cubic yards, cubic meters, gallons, and liters
  • Includes a 3D preview where the geometry helps
  • Saves nothing — calculations happen entirely in your browser
